Gloomy typical saturday in stilton.
My favourite.
Decided that i definitely needed some photographs to work from and keep, so i ran outside when the sun came out for an hour or two so that i could get some good snaps.
They might not be the best photographs i've ever taken but i was seeing them from a drawing/research perspective not a finished final photograph so excuse the composition of some.
I think my favourite are the two of "39 church street."
This house is situated right next to a "lagoon" behind the church. (When i say lagoon, its a swampy dell thats covered mossy sludge). The owners have sectioned off their pathway from the lagoon and planted lots of knobbly trees to give a bit of privacy. But, being the nosey ,i had a snoop.
They had an old boat that had been beached and placed neatly next's to the bins as if it was ready for recycling but instead the years had covered it in moss and debris. I know curiosity killed the cat but i am just dying to know what happened to that boat to make it stay there for all them years.
Then a few more steps up, i found an old caravan hidden behinds some more sparse, dying bushes. It just looked so out of place with its happy go lucky 60's design and cheerful sky blue panelling. Its almost a little sad to see it sitting in the mud, rotting away.
As i walked away from the house i noticed that i could see little tiny cracks in the bushes that displayed the house behind it, it looked a very old, stone built, very big place. I feel like there a children's story somewhere in all of this just waiting to be written, like im in the secret garden or something.
